Growing up it was just her and the city. People tend to not believe you're an orphan when you confess, so Paige made parents up. It was easier that way. She learned at an early age to hand out a disconnected number if she was attending school; which was an off and on sort of gig till she was about thirteen. Walking with her head down looking for an easy mark, trying to draw as little attention as possible, she went to lift the wallet of a man dressed in a pretty snazzy business suit. There was only one problem, she got caught. Literally red handed with her fingers around the wallet, it's not like he would miss the cash and then she would dump the rest, in a city provided trash receptacle. But something about the best laid plans of mice and men... etc.

Galiver Stanton was a tall man with black hair that was becoming littered with Grey at the age of 45 his good looks and frankly his military contacts had proved fruitful after leaving his time in the service. When the small redheaded girl tried to take his wallet his sharp green hazel eyes looked her over, her cloths were filthy, her hair in tangles but she was swift with her hands and there was something about her, could of been fate but it was probably chance.

"Little girl, I would really hate to have to replace all my credit cards. "Let me give you what you wanted," He handed her the cash, "and then you can be off."

Paige looked up at him her eyes distrustful and her mind seeming to weight her options; with a snatch and a run the cash was swiftly removed from Galiver's hand and she was off, running as if the gates of hell were on her heels. She was lithe, swift and agile. He continued to watch the little thief that tried to lift his wallet. He would have never noticed, if he hadn't been going for the wallet himself, to buy something from the news stand. With something akin to respect ,in his dark green eyes, he continued about his business. Government Contract work was booming and there were things to be arranged.
